Review experience, communication, warranty service, included features, allowances, change-order policies and recent client feedback.
Choose the right lot and plan
Consider orientation, drainage, setbacks, utilities, future surroundings, traffic flow and whether the floor plan works beyond the staged model.
Understand the real price
Separate standard features from upgrades and account for the lot, site work, landscaping, appliances, window coverings and other costs outside the base price.
Review contracts and deadlines
Know the deposit, financing requirements, construction milestones, completion language, inspection rights and change-order process before signing.
Stay involved during construction
Attend scheduled walkthroughs, document selections and changes, and use qualified inspectors at appropriate stages when the contract allows.
